Raytheon is hiring a Senior Database Engineer to support our teams in Richardson, TX. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. Responsibilities Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs into viable design solutions.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well. Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions. Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.
Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs. Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start. Qualifications Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of Database Engineering experience.
Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) and Database Engineer (DBE). Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems. Experience working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement and modify backend databases to interact with applications within a development environment.
Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases. Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities. Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date and ability to obtain a TS/SCI before start.
U.S. citizenship required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance. Experience with AWS.
Experience with NoSQL database products such as MongoDB and DynamoDB. Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and related issues. Experience troubleshooting performance issues.
Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements. Experience with automating routine tasks. Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful.
Existing Security+ certification is preferred.
