Senior Data Analyst

Job Title: Data Analyst Location: Hybrid (Belfast) – Must have own laptop Contract: 6 months Rate: £440/day (umbrella) The Role As a Data Analyst, you will lead data-focused initiatives across multiple projects aimed at building and improving transaction monitoring and regulatory frameworks. You will act as a subject matter expert on data used in surveillance controls and help drive insights that strengthen risk management practices. Key Responsibilities Support multiple risk and control projects by gathering data requirements and sourcing relevant datasets Write SQL queries to extract, analyse, and validate data Document datasets, filters, and methodologies with clear rationale Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for data used in transaction monitoring controls Partner with stakeholders to review findings and recommend improvements Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and assess impact on end users Operate with autonomy while contributing to a collaborative team environment Ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards Skills & Experience 4–8 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst Strong SQL skills (essential) Knowledge of financial instruments (especially bonds and derivatives) is highly desirable Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities Experience working with globally distributed teams Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) Why Join?
