About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented, payments‑savvy Senior Data Analyst to join the Data Analytics team, reporting into the Director, Data Analytics. The initial term is a 6 month on a contract basis,. This role will play a key part in building the analytics foundation for KEV's Payments business.
You will partner closely with the Payments team to transform data from multiple platforms and payment processors into trusted, scalable data models, reporting, and insights that help the business understand performance, identify opportunities, and grow payment volume and revenue. You will work across the analytics lifecycle - from understanding raw transactional and processor data, to building transformation pipelines and reusable data models, to creating reporting and conducting deeper analysis that explains what is driving Payments performance. As a senior individual contributor, you will be expected to work independently, build strong stakeholder relationships, and own analytical initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition and data modeling through reporting, analysis, and recommendations.
You will also be expected to lead projects autonomously from day one. As a key contributor to KEV's data-driven decision-making, your work will help influence Payments strategy, product development, customer engagement, and broader business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with the Payments team to understand business priorities, payment flows, operational processes, and analytical needs.
- Build and maintain scalable payment data models and transformation pipelines using SQL and dbt, turning raw transactional and processor data into trusted analytics-ready datasets.
- Help establish and mature our dbt implementation, including modeling standards, testing, documentation, lineage, reusable models, and development best practices.
- Develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle, including transaction initiation, authorization, settlement, fees, refunds, chargebacks, payment methods, and processor activity.
- Create dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into Payments performance, adoption, transaction trends, and revenue impact.
- Move beyond reporting what happened to identify why performance changed, where value is being lost, and where opportunities exist to improve adoption, payment volume, and revenue.
- Own stakeholder relationships and lead analytics projects autonomously, from scoping through delivery
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer strategic questions about product and payments performance
- Provide data-backed recommendations to drive increased payment revenue and product growth
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or Analytics Engineering, preferably within a payments organization. Prior experience with SaaS, fintech, or technology is a bonus.
- Strong hands‑on SQL skills are required, including experience working with complex transactional datasets and building reusable analytical data models.
- Strong hands‑on dbt experience is required, including building models, tests, documentation, and transformation pipelines.
- Experience working within a modern cloud data warehouse or lakehouse, such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery is required.
- Experience with a BI tool such as Databricks AI/BI is preferred, but Tableau, Power BI, or Looker will also be considered.
- Payments domain experience is strongly preferred, with experience working with transactional or payment processor data from raw sources through transformation, analysis, and reporting.
- Seniority to work independently, own stakeholder relationships, and lead projects with minimal oversight
- Strong experience collaborating with key partners to refine stakeholder requirements and identify and analyze trends
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Salary Range - $110,000 - $130,000
Note: We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
