Job Description Job Description Senior Controls Engineer – Embedded Systems Location: Stone Mountain, GA | On-site, 5 days a week We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Controls Engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and HVAC/R applications . This role is ideal for someone who understands how controls behave in real refrigeration and cooling environments — not just on paper. This is not a building automation role.

You’ll be working at the product and electronics level , applying embedded controls directly to HVAC/R and refrigeration systems. If you enjoy working close to the hardware, troubleshooting at the circuit level, and owning your technical domain, this role offers meaningful responsibility and impact. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and support embedded control systems for HVAC/R and refrigeration products Apply controls logic to vapor compression systems , including compressors, condensers, and evaporators Troubleshoot electronics at the component and circuit level , including chips, boards, and sensors Build, test, and refine prototypes in a hands-on lab environment Debug signal flow, voltage behavior, and component performance in HVAC/R applications Work directly with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and soldering tools Serve as the embedded controls subject matter expert on HVAC/R-focused projects Partner with cross-functional teams to support product development and system improvements What You Bring Strong experience in embedded controls engineering Demonstrated experience working with HVAC/R or refrigeration systems Practical understanding of thermodynamics and the vapor compression cycle Ability to explain pressure and temperature relationships in cooling systems Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronics and embedded hardware , not just software Comfort working directly with components such as transistors, diodes, resistors, and capacitors A do-it-yourself mindset — willing to build, test, and fix prototypes yourself Ability to work on-site 5 days a week in Stone Mountain, GA What Makes This Role Stand Out HVAC/R-focused embedded engineering: Your controls expertise directly impacts real cooling and refrigeration systems True hands-on ownership: You’ll work at the board, circuit, and system level — not just specifications High-impact technical role: Act as the go-to embedded expert for HVAC/R controls If you’re an embedded controls engineer with real HVAC/R experience who wants to work hands-on with hardware and own critical systems from the inside out, we’d love to connect.
