Senior Commercial Manager Location: Birmingham, Bristol or Guildford Contract Length: 6 Months Day Rate: ยฃ750 โ€“ ยฃ850 per day (Inside IR35) About the role Join a high-impact Major Projects environment where your expertise will help shape key infrastructure outcomes. As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering strong commercial performance across a portfolio of projects, influencing strategic decisions while working closely with operational and supply chain partners. Key responsibilities Lead commercial and contract management across projects, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations Support investment decisions, budget planning and cost control across a diverse project portfolio Provide expert advice on contract administration, performance data and commercial improvements Oversee and support procurement activities, including tender reviews and contract documentation Analyse contract and cost performance, identifying opportunities to improve outcomes Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external suppliers Represent the commercial function in regional meetings and decision-making forums Lead and support commercial teams, providing guidance, mentoring and direction Contribute to forecasting and financial planning processes alongside operations teams Champion safe working practices and promote a positive wellbeing culture Essential skills and requirements Strong experience in commercial and contract management within complex projects Ability to lead and develop teams, including matrix management responsibility Confident communicator who can influence decisions and align stakeholders Skilled in analysing complex information and translating it into clear actions Knowledge of NEC forms of contract and their practical application Experience supporting procurement and tender evaluation processes Strong commercial awareness with a focus on achieving value for money Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective working relationships Professional qualification such as RICS, ICE or equivalent Commitment to high standards of safety, integrity and performance If you are looking to make a meaningful impact in a commercial role, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure delivery while developing your leadership profile.
