Senior National Account Manager (NAM) Location: North West (3 days on-site with a major retailer) Reporting to: Account Controller The Role This is a high-impact, customer-facing opportunity to lead one of our most strategically important retail partnerships within a fast-paced, highly innovative own-label environment. As Senior National Account Manager, you will take full ownership of a major UK retailer, driving sustainable growth through best-in-class commercial execution, strong customer relationships, and delivery of compelling, insight-led joint business plans. Youโll operate at the heart of the business, acting as the voice of the customer internally while championing innovation, category growth, and operational excellence to deliver against ambitious commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities Customer & Commercial Leadership Own the P&L for your customer, delivering against revenue, margin and volume targets Develop and deliver robust, insight-led Joint Business Plans aligned to both customer and company objectives Lead all commercial negotiations including pricing, tenders and contract agreements Drive promotional strategy and performance, evaluating ROI and optimising future activity Strategic Growth & Innovation Identify and unlock growth opportunities through market insight, category understanding and customer engagement Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class own-label innovation and NPD pipelines Ensure product and category strategies are aligned with customer needs and evolving consumer trends Play a leading role in shaping the longer-term customer strategy and building strong, trusted partnerships Cross-Functional Leadership Act as the internal champion of your customer, ensuring alignment across supply chain, finance, marketing and operations Lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service levels and customer satisfaction Provide clear, actionable insight back into the business to drive continuous improvement People & Capability Coach and support more junior team members, contributing to the development of future commercial talent Role model high-performance behaviours, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer focus What Weโre Looking For Experience Proven track record in National Accounts within FMCG or food manufacturing (own-label experience highly desirable) Experience managing a major UK retailer with full P&L accountability Demonstrated success in delivering growth through JBP execution and customer partnerships Strong background in commercial negotiations and relationship management at senior customer level Skills & Attributes Strong commercial and financial acumen Highly analytical with the ability to translate insight into action Excellent negotiation and influencing skills Collaborative leader with the ability to work cross-functionally Proactive, resilient and results-driven mindset Strong attention to detail and structured approach to planning Why Join?
