Senior Backend Engineer — AI-Native, Devices Cloud Location: Remote (USA/Canada) We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer II to join our Devices Cloud team , building backend services that power connected products like trackers, wearables, and emerging device categories. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, mobile, and product — translating real-world signals into reliable, scalable backend systems used by millions of families. Why This Role Stands Out AI-Native Engineering : You’ll use AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) as first-class collaborators for specs, code, testing, debugging, and incident triage. Impact at Scale : Build resilient microservices and telemetry pipelines that support millions of devices globally. Cutting-Edge Tech : Work with AWS (EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS), Kafka/Kinesis, and modern observability tooling. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with firmware, mobile, and product teams to deliver end-to-end experiences. What We’re Looking For 5+ years backend engineering (Java, Go, Python). Strong experience with microservices, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred). Hands-on experience with AI-native workflows (prompt engineering, agentic workflows, function calling).

Familiarity with databases, caching, and event/streaming systems.
