About the role\n

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate/ Special Counsel to join our well-regarded Public Law team. Thisrole involves providing advice and conducting disputes for clientsin both government (local and state) and the private sector, with aparticular focus on compulsory acquisition, compensation, planningmatters, land valuation and local government rating.

\n

This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team thatdoes quality work on high-profile projects in a multidisciplinaryenvironment, and where you will be well supported with yourtraining and development. The right candidate will have theopportunity to supervise and mentor junior lawyers.

About you\n

In order to be considered for this role you will have thefollowing skills and experience:

    \n
  • 6+ years’ experience in privatepractice/government
  • \n
  • Exposure to or experience in compulsoryacquisition/compensation, valuation and/or planning andenvironment law will be well regarded but is notessential
  • \n
  • Disputes experience at VCAT and/or the Supreme Courtwill be well regarded.
  • \n
  • You will have experience in the supervision of juniorlawyers.
  • \n
  • You will have strong drafting skills, excellentcommunication skills and a collegiate approach.
