We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounts team.
Reporting to our Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will support the School’s financial management and reporting functions, including month-end and year-end processes, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role will provide financial analysis and advice to support informed decision-making, while contributing to process improvement initiatives and supporting undergraduate accountants within the team.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Assist in the management of month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts, financial reports and ad hoc analysis.
Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and reporting.
Coordinate statutory reporting requirements and support external audit processes.
Manage the School’s fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, depreciation and capital expenditure reporting.
Provide financial oversight of contracts, including pricing, variations and reporting.
Support internal stakeholders to understand financial performance, reporting and budget responsibilities.
Identify and drive process improvement, automation and systems initiatives across the Accounts function.
Manage, mentor and support undergraduate accountants.
Contribute to broader projects and initiatives across the Accounts team.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
CA or CPA qualification.
At least three years’ experience in a similar accounting or senior finance role.
Demonstrated experience across management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and statutory reporting requirements.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated initiative, sound judgement and discretion, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
