Senior Accountant

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated accountant to join our growing team at Craig Baker & Associates. This role has become available due to growth of the firm’s client base. Craig Baker & Associates is a long-established accounting practice located in Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.

This role is ideal for someone with approximately five years of public practice experience who is confident managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and SMSFs
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS
• Client liaison and management of day-to-day queries
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory work
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and ATO requirements
• Supporting team members and mentoring junior staff where required

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in public practice
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• CA/CPA/IPA qualified or working towards completion (preferred)
