Paragon Consultants is a progressive and growing accounting and business advisory firm based in Nedlands, Western Australia.

We work with a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses, professionals, investors and high-net-worth clients, providing taxation, business advisory, structuring and CFO services.

Due to continued growth and our commitment to developing future leaders within our firm, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager to join our leadership team.

This is not a standard compliance role. You will play an integral part in reviewing work, mentoring staff, developing client relationships and helping shape the future of our firm. We are looking for someone who enjoys leading others, values technical excellence and wants a genuine pathway into management.

You'll join a capable team comprising a Manager, experienced intermediates and junior accountants, giving you the opportunity to mentor, review and genuinely influence the development of the team.

About the Role

Working closely with the Partners and Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing financial statements, income tax returns and BAS for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals.

Preparing complex financial statements and tax return when required.

Management of a portfolio of business clients and acting as their trusted adviser.

Assisting clients with taxation planning, business structuring and general commercial advice.

Providing technical guidance and mentoring to intermediate and junior accountants.

Managing workflow and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Meeting directly with clients and developing long-term relationships.

Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and firm processes.

Supporting the continued growth and development of the accounting team.

Contributing to a collaborative and positive team culture.

About You

You will ideally have:

6+ years' Australian public practice accounting experience.

CA or CPA qualification.

Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and business advisory services.

Demonstrated experience reviewing financial statements and income tax returns.

Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.

Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

A genuine desire to continue developing professionally and progress into a leadership role.
