Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in India. The Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end closing activities, and the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations, managing reconciliations, reviewing journal entries, and monitoring internal controls.

The role involves supporting audits, analyzing variances, guiding junior accounting staff, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to the refinement of policies, procedures, and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end closing.
  • Experience with tax compliance and regulatory requirements in India, as well as familiarity with applicable accounting standards (e.g., Ind AS, IFRS).
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced skills in spreadsheet tools for analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to perform detailed reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal control reviews to ensure accuracy and mitigate financial risk.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding junior accounting team members and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present financial information clearly to non-finance partners.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CMA, or a master’s/bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role, preferably within a corporate or multi-entity environment; exposure to audit processes is an advantage.
