ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Alchemy continues to grow at pace, the demand to support our Global Controller, Operations, and the EU/UK Financial Controller becomes more critical. This role is meant to take senior support and accountability of key regional and global deliverables, working seamlessly with both reporting managers to balance and own monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables.
The Senior Accountant will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. These activities and deliverables will be under the guidance of the EU/UK Financial Controller.
The Senior Accountant will assist with ensuring compliance with Transfer Pricing, Country by Country Reporting, Pillar II and other regulatory requirements. There will be opportunities to get involved in upcoming projects such as implementation of e‑invoicing directive, the integration of our ERP with our global banking partner to streamline financial management and other ad‑hoc initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working as part of a team and assisting with all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal creation when required
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month‑end and year‑end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Intercompany reconciliations and allocations
- Additional duties as necessary

You have:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred) with 3+ years of post‑qualification experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Financial Statement preparation and FRS102 experience
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month‑end/year‑end close processes
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Experience with Transfer Pricing would give an advantage
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Experience with VAT reporting advantageous, OSS and Marginal VAT
- Intercompany reconciliation experience advantageous
- Self‑starter with the ability to quickly take ownership of responsibilities
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Proactive and able to use your own initiative to identify and resolve issues
- Confident managing workloads and prioritising tasks effectivelyl
- Demonstrates accountability and takes responsibility for delivering results
- Able to learn new processes quickly without requiring extensive guidance
- Resourceful and motivated, with a strong drive to find solutions independently
