Paramedic Emergency Services Sector Manager Hours: 37.5 hours per week Band: 8C plus on call allowance Location: Cheshire and Merseyside Area. Liverpool and Wirral Sector Job Type: Permanent An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cheshire and Merseyside Area leadership team in the role of Sector Manager. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Sector Manager will be accountable for the effective planning and delivery of operational performance and clinical quality to patients within Merseyside and Wirral.

Responsible for the effective management and leadership of all frontline and administrative staff within the Sector ensuring Trust objectives and targets are met. Responsible for delivery of the Paramedic Emergency Service in the designated sector. Main duties of the job As Sector Manager you will be accountable for the delivery of our Paramedic Emergency Services across your Sector.

You will be required to work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of those services. You will lead a team of managers to ensure staff are supported in their roles and ensure business targets are achieved. You will work as part of the Trust's on-call team and will be a key leadership role here at NWAS.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West.

NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Ability to motivate, performance manage and develop teams and individuals Open diplomatic and democratic style with excellent negotiation skills.

Decision maker, with ability to adapt decision making to meet needs of situation. Ability to work independently on own initiative to meet broad objectives Planning and organisation skills. Demonstrable compassionate and inclusive leadership Experience in the application of HR processes Demonstrable experience of line management responsibilities Qualification and Knowledge Paramedic registration.

Relevant post graduate management qualification or equivalent supervisory / leadership experience. Be able to evidence, through a portfolio of CPD, extensive specialist knowledge relative to the role and also to have additional experience and expertise in leadership and management at a senior level Relevant commander qualification at tactical / strategic level or willing to acquire in post. Experience Operational experience as a practising registered professional.
