Job Description
SCADA Engineer, Advisor Location: Houston, United States (77056) What You Can Expect As a SCADA Engineer, Advisor in Houston, you will support systems that keep ENGIE's renewable generation assets operating safely and efficiently across North America. You will develop and maintain Wonderware System Platform, build InTouch HMI graphics, and support SCADA integration for new and existing sites. You will handle daily SCADA updates, alarm workflows, data collection processes, and interface changes between sites and control systems.
You will manage documentation, support outage and restoration work, and travel to renewable sites to participate in commissioning and signal checkout activities. Key Responsibilities Learn ENGIE North America distributed generation SCADA architecture and new project development and implementation processes. Assist with engineering analysis, design review and commissioning of renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar PV, Solar PV + Energy Storage).
Create test procedures to verify hardware and software designs. Travel to remote sites for project commissioning and signal check‑out activities of SCADA communications. Assist in commissioning of wind, solar photovoltaic systems, and energy storage systems.
Become familiar with ENGIE Cyber Security framework and support compliance in all renewable projects. Prepare performance monitoring tools and programming applications. Record specification designs, drawings, bills of materials, and test data.
Ensure engineering design complies with UL, IEEE, ISA requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Bring A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Automation and Controls Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, Computer Programming Engineering or equivalent.
Seven (7) years of industrial automation experience in the Power Sector. Proficient in AVEVA Wonderware System Platform (2017‑2023). Experience developing process graphics in InTouch HMI.
Experience with PLC hardware and maintenance for Allen‑Bradley Control Logix and ABB PLC. Programming PLC ladder logic and functional block language. Additional Details Hybrid work schedule: three days in office and two days remote.
Domestic travel up to 15% of the time, including to Canada; occasional overnight trips. Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean driving record. Must comply with ENGIE ethics and safety policies. 15% outdoor work exposure to weather conditions.
Compensation Salary Range: $113,900 - $174,570 USD annually. Base pay is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
