Introduction

The Finance Division is made up of a number of core finance teams. We perform a key financial management and control function in ensuring all Group financial and management reporting processes are appropriately governed. The Finance Division has overall responsibility for driving the Group budgeting and forecasting process, developing Group-focused financial insight and analysis and delivering the Group's statutory, regulatory and external reporting.

We do this through collaborative business partnering in each of the Divisions and with centralised Finance shared / specialist services.

Purpose of the Role

This is a key role requiring a SAS developer with expertise in SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Viya to deliver or maintain solutions that increase capacity, reduce operational risk, delivers regulatory change or enables the Bank’s ambitious change agenda. Working with other stakeholders to deliver solutions from initiation to closure, to meet defined business and technical objectives within agreed time, cost and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with colleagues in TecWorks and across IT, Finance and Risk to ensure effective collaboration, communication in the delivery of solutions.
  • Support change projects full life cycle from initiation through development, testing and implementation.
  • Responsible for ensuring there is no ambiguity with proposed solutions business requirements, and that appropriate governance and oversight is in place including review and sign off.
  • Analyse and interpret data to challenge constructively and provide objective insight and solutions to problems.
  • Ensure the relevant approach and standards are adhered to in any solution and process redesign.
  • Support effective handover of redesigned processes and documentation to BAU teams.
  • Manage and escalated risk and issues timely for resolution in accordance with internal standards.

Essential Qualification

  • Degree in IT, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong development experience with SAS or SQL Data Integration and ETL
  • Proven track record in delivering technology driven solutions through a full project life-cycle.
  • Strong interpretative and analytical experience and skills with ability to challenge constructively current processes and norms.
  • Ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder at all levels.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Project Management experience and natural ability to prioritise and manage complex and inter-dependent activities to tight timelines.
  • Self-starter with a “roll-up sleeves” attitude, excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Knowledge of and experience within the financial services sector
  • Enthusiastic with a passion for change and efficiency
  • Results-oriented, relationship builder, and confident self-starter
  • Highly organised with a strong attention-to-detail.
