Role Overview We are promoting a live opportunity for an experienced Senior Sales Officer to drive sales growth and strengthen market presence within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for managing distribution networks, developing customer relationships, executing sales strategies, and achieving business objectives through effective territory management.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding business opportunities, enhancing channel performance, and delivering sustainable revenue growth. Key Responsibilities Territory & Business Management Manage sales operations within the assigned territory to achieve revenue and distribution targets. Drive business growth through effective territory planning and execution.
Monitor market performance and identify opportunities to improve sales and distribution reach. Ensure optimal product availability and visibility across assigned accounts and markets. Distribution & Channel Management Develop and strengthen relationships with distributors, channel partners, and key stakeholders.
Support business planning initiatives and evaluate the effectiveness of distribution investments. Improve distributor capabilities and operational effectiveness. Monitor channel performance and recommend actions to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Sales Achievement & Customer Development Achieve sales targets through acquisition of new customers and growth within existing accounts. Identify opportunities to increase product penetration and expand market coverage. Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews.
Negotiate commercial agreements, prepare quotations, and close sales opportunities. Deliver excellent customer support to strengthen long-term relationships. Team Development & Performance Management Support performance management, coaching, and development initiatives within the sales team.
Facilitate training and capability-building activities to improve sales effectiveness. Promote a results-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and business outcomes.
Prepare and submit periodic sales and performance reports. Monitor progress against objectives and implement corrective actions where required. Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks and expense reporting.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Input Gather insights on market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities. Share field intelligence to support strategic planning and product development initiatives. Identify emerging opportunities and potential business risks within the territory.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Management, or a related field. Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or a related discipline is advantageous. 5โ8 years of experience in sales, preferably within consumer goods, retail, distribution, or related industries. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering business growth.
Experience in territory management, distributor management, and channel development. Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills Strong understanding of sales planning and execution. Experience managing geographically dispersed customer accounts. Ability to analyse market data and convert insights into actionable strategies.
Commercial acumen and business partnering capability. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
