StraussGroup has been retained to lead a confidential search on behalf of a well-established, family-owned distributor headquartered in the Buffalo, NY area. Founded in the mid-20th century, this company has grown into one of the largest suppliers of specialty chemicals and seasonal products in Western New York, with a regional footprint extending into Ohio, Pennsylvania, and beyond. With nearly 80 years of operation and a loyal, long-tenured team, this organization is known for taking exceptional care of its people.

The team is looking for a motivated individual contributor ready to step into a thriving territory and make it their own. THE OPPORTUNITY This is a rare chance to join a stable, privately held company with deep market share and real room to grow. You'll manage a portfolio of existing accounts while actively developing new business across municipalities, industrial facilities, and commercial customers; all within a manageable, regional territory.

The company is also launching a new product line in 2025, adding additional revenue potential and year-round activity to the role. You'll work closely with ownership, have significant autonomy over your schedule and territory strategy, and be set up for long-term success from day one. This is not a high-pressure sales environment.

The company holds strong market share and is looking for someone who is self-motivated, relationship-driven, and genuinely excited to build a career, not just fill a seat. WHAT YOU'LL DO Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts across commercial, municipal, and industrial customers Identify and develop new business opportunities within the regional territory Re-engage lapsed accounts and rebuild segments that have been underserviced Build strong relationships with purchasing departments, facilities managers, and municipal operations leaders Represent an expanding product portfolio, including new product lines launching in 2025 Travel locally and regionally to customer sites; most travel is day‑trip based WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 2+ years of B2B sales or account management experience Background in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial sales is a plus, but not required A self‑starter who can manage a territory independently without needing daily direction Strong relationship‑building skills and a consultative approach to sales Genuine interest in a long‑term role; this company's culture rewards loyalty and tenure Comfortable calling on a mix of customer types, from small municipalities to commercial operations Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally COMPENSATION & BENEFITS This role offers a competitive base salary plus a tiered, uncapped commission structure.
