Sales Engineer Product Inspection (Food Industry) Salary: £60,000 Basic + £20,000 OTE (Uncapped Commission) Benefits: Company Vehicle (up to £45,000 value) | 25 Days Holiday | Additional Benefits Location: South West UK The Company We are working with a UK-based Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and market leader in product inspection technology. All machines are manufactured in the UK, and due to continued aggressive growth, they are seeking a driven and ambitious Sales Engineer to join their expanding team. The Role As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for selling a range of capital equipment solutions into blue‑chip food manufacturers.
Typical products include: Checkweighers Metal Detection Systems X‑ray Inspection Systems Other Product Inspection (PI) Equipment This is a technical, solution‑based sales role where you will work closely with engineering and production teams to identify problems and deliver tailored solutions. You will be expected to spend four days per week visiting customers and one day working from home, developing relationships and generating new business opportunities. Typical sales cycles range from 12 weeks to 6 months, with average order values between £50,000 and £100,000.
You will carry an annual sales target of £1 million. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities within the food manufacturing sector Engage with engineering managers and technical stakeholders Deliver consultative, solution‑based sales presentations Build strong relationships with blue‑chip food companies Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing Achieve and exceed annual sales targets Maintain strong market awareness and competitor knowledge Candidate Requirements Proven track record in sales with evidence of achieving significant targets Strong drive, ambition, and hunger to earn commission Ability to engage with engineering or technical stakeholders A proactive, “hunter” mindset with a passion for meeting customers Willingness to travel regularly and spend significant time in the field #J-18808-Ljbffr
