Job Description Sales Engineer \n\nFood Processing Capital Equipment\n Territory: Midlands South\n Salary: £40,000–£50,000 + Commission (10–20% Uncapped)\n Benefits: Company Vehicle | 25 Days Holiday\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are recruiting for a Sales Engineer to join a leading distributor of food processing capital equipment. This role focuses on selling machinery such as skinners, derinders, slicing and portioning equipment, and other specialist food processing machinery.\n\nYou will be responsible for managing an established customer base across the Midlands South territory, primarily serving boning halls and abattoirs. While the role is largely account management-focused, we are looking for a proactive individual who can identify new opportunities within existing accounts — a true hunter in a farmer’s world.\n\nTypical machine values range from £20,000 to £200,000, with a realistic territory sales target of £1 million, expected to be fully achieved by year two.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage and grow relationships with existing customers across the Midlands South\nIdentify new sales opportunities within current accounts\nProvide technical solutions tailored to customer requirements\nPromote and sell a range of capital equipment for food processing\nDeliver professional demonstrations and technical advice\nWork closely with customers to maximise equipment investment and long-term partnerships\nCandidate Requirements\n\nWe are open to candidates from one of the following backgrounds:\n\nOption 1:\n\nProven experience selling capital equipment\nIdeally within the food processing or meat industry\nOption 2:\n\nEngineering background within the food industry\nExperience in service, applications, or internal sales\nLooking to move into a field-based capital equipment sales role\nThe ideal candidate will:\n\nHave strong commercial awareness\nBe technically minded with the ability to offer engineered solutions\nBe confident building long-term customer relationships\nHave the ability to identify opportunities and maximise customer spend\nHold a full UK driving licence\nPackage\n\n £40,000–£50,000 basic salary\nUncapped commission (10–20%)\nCompany vehicle\n25 days annual leave\nEstablished customer base\nLong-term career development opportunities\n \nTo Apply\n\nPlease contact Dan Walton on (phone number removed) quoting reference\n\nSER-IN
