Position Summary Sales Engineer Job at FiberPlus, Inc. Sales Engineers manage technology and sales support throughout all aspects of the sales cycle while continually identifying revenue opportunities. The Sales Engineer provides technical sales support and ensures both customer understanding and satisfaction with FiberPlus, Inc. products and services.
Position Responsibilities Builds and maintains a pipeline of active and qualified accounts Establishes and retains knowledge of products and service offerings Presents sales proposals, product demonstrations, and ROI analyses to persuasively illustrate the benefits of proposed solutions Adapts product/solution offerings to meet client needs Conducts site examinations, as necessary, to ensure thorough understanding of client site and needs Prepares documents such as drawings and specifications to accurately determine scope by project, to include materials, labor, RFP responses, Statement of Work (SOW), and submittals Resolves customer questions/issues Prepares estimate spreadsheets Reviews credit balances, refunds, adjustments, and claim denials; reconciles, corrects and applies adjustments to billing records Prepares necessary documentation to support collections and billing process Provides customer service regarding collection issues Resolves client discrepancies and short payments Acquires materials and parts as needed Studies sales records and inventory Reconciles customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances Essential Skills and Experience Minimum 5 years in the low voltage integration field, including CCTV systems, access control, voice systems, fiber optic and copper cabling, integration and installation. Proven level of sales volume in excess of $1 million per year and experience in business development for commercial and federal markets with proficiency in construction, electrical and engineering drawings. Ability to build excellent client relationships, influence decision makers, network within the telecommunications industry, and hold trade industry membership.
In‑depth knowledge of current industry standards and product lines. Prioritizes tasks, meets deadlines, exhibits a sense of urgency, follows up, and demonstrates closing, prospecting, sales planning, and presentation skills. Works independently and within a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Additional Requirements Pass a background check and/or obtain a government‑issued clearance Clean driving record with DMV record Drug screening required Obtain and maintain Virginia state Electronic Security Sales registration with DCJS Current Virginia DCJS Electronic Security Sales registration is a plus Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Manufacturer certification for multiple product lines such as Corning, AMP, Sumitomo, Mohawk, Belden, etc. is a plus.
BICSI certification is also a plus.
