Position: Sales & Business Development Agronomist
Location: South-East QLD (with travel across regional and interstate agricultural areas)
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
This is a hybrid technical and commercial role. You will be responsible for supporting and growing an established client base while also identifying and developing new market opportunities across horticulture and home garden, broadacre, pasture, and specialist crop sectors, working with our current distributors and identifying and fostering new distributorship opportunities.
You will represent the Company as a trusted advisor to growers, distributors, and agribusiness partners, providing agronomic expertise alongside practical, commercially viable fertiliser and retail solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and service an existing portfolio of agricultural and horticultural clients, ensuring strong long-term relationships
Manage, service and grow existing portfolio of retail stores, ensuring strong long-term growth and relationships. Work closely with distributors and retail networks to ensure efficient distribution and support product uptake.
Provide agronomic advice, soil health recommendations, and product support to growers and advisers
Drive profitable sales growth by building on existing relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities across target regions and industries
Conduct on-farm visits, field trials, and product demonstrations
Analyse soil and crop data from soil tests and recommend tailored fertiliser programs and solutions
Contribute to company sponsored and joint marketing initiatives, field days, and industry events.
Be able to thoroughly facilitate and complete business development projects.
Provide market feedback to support product development and innovation
Produce marketing material for EDMโs and social media platforms
Have a deep understanding and passion for the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil health
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Soil Science, or related field
Proven experience in agronomy, agricultural sales, or technical crop advisory roles
Strong understanding of soil health, plant nutrition, and sustainable farming systems
Demonstrated ability to prospect, build and maintain client relationships
Commercial mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated competence with Windows and Microsoft Office/365 software
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently across regional areas
Regular reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager on sales results vs agreed goals, objectives and responses to changing market conditions
