About the Role The Applications Engineer is responsible for estimating, developing, and costing robust, weatherproof packaging solutions for generator systems, while also serving as a key technical liaison for the sales team. This role combines engineering expertise with customer‑facing sales support to deliver tailored enclosure solutions that meet client requirements for durability, safety, cost, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Estimate, concept and propose custom enclosures for generators, considering environmental exposure, structural integrity and ease of installation.

Select, quote and specify suitable materials and protective technologies to ensure durability and resistance to weather, corrosion, and mechanical damage during transportation and operational use. Develop concepts/models/layouts and engineering renderings for customer presentation supporting proposal submittals. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and site visits to assess requirements and propose optimally tailored packaging solutions.

Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales team, providing expert guidance on enclosure solutions and responding to customer inquiries. Collaborate with sales teams to develop compelling proposals, quotes, and technical specifications tailored to customer needs. Monitor and report on project budgets, financial performance, and cost variances throughout the project lifecycle to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Develop and analyze cost estimates for generator enclosure packaging projects, considering materials, labor, manufacturing, and logistics. Qualifications College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of experience in large-custom fabrication of industrial equipment, preferably with weatherproof or generator enclosures. Experience in customer supporting teams with background in sales or technical roles.

Demonstrated experience in cost estimation, financial analysis and project budgeting for engineering projects. Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with engineering analysis tools. Familiar with various manufacturing industries, their products, terminology, and processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong understanding of ERP system (Visual). Strong knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principals including Structural and Acoustical analysis. Ability to interpret technical drawings, industry standards, and regulatory codes (e.g., CSA, UL Codes and Standards).
