Job Description

US Accounting Ownership. Long-Term Global Partnerships.

MAVI partners with high-growth US businesses, embedding experienced accounting professionals directly into their finance operations. This is not a back-office accounting role — you will be embedded directly within US finance teams, operating as a trusted partner to US leadership.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Revenue Accountant to own the revenue cycle end to end for US-based clients — from contract to recognised revenue to cash.

You will work in lean, high-trust environments where revenue is the number everyone watches. You will own how it is recognised, why it moved, and whether it will survive an audit. Your accuracy and process ownership directly support business growth.

What You Will Own

Own revenue recognition under ASC 606, including the five-step assessment, performance obligations, allocation, and timing Review customer contracts, order forms, and amendments for revenue impact, and flag terms that do not fit the established treatment Own the deferred revenue roll-forward, contract asset and liability schedules, and unbilled receivables Own the revenue close — journal entries, accruals, cut-off, and revenue reconciliations — within the monthly close calendar Reconcile revenue and deferred revenue between the billing system, the CRM, and the general ledger, and resolve differences to root cause Oversee subscription billing, invoicing accuracy, and the AR sub-ledger, and support collections with accurate customer balances Prepare ARR, NRR, churn, and revenue reporting for US stakeholders, and tie it back to the audited revenue number Perform revenue variance analysis and explain the movements — price, volume, mix, timing — in terms someone outside finance can act on Maintain audit-ready revenue documentation, including the memoranda supporting significant judgements Prepare revenue PBC deliverables and respond directly to auditor queries on revenue through to resolution Support the broader month-end close, general ledger integrity, and supporting schedules alongside your revenue areas Collaborate directly with US Controllers, CFOs, and finance leadership, and partner with Sales and RevOps on deal structuring and billing questions Drive process improvements and automation across the contract-to-cash cycle

What We're Looking For

4–6+ years of accounting experience with strong US GAAP exposure, including hands-on revenue accounting Practical depth in ASC 606 — not familiarity, but having applied it to real contracts and defended the conclusion Experience with deferred revenue, subscription or recurring-revenue models, and multi-element arrangements Experience reconciling revenue between a billing system and the general ledger Strong reconciliation discipline and the ability to investigate a variance through to root cause Experience supporting an audit, including revenue PBC preparation and direct auditor contact ERP experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or equivalent) Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, including comfort building schedules others can follow Strong analytical and organizational skills Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain a revenue position to a non-accountant Availability for US time zone overlap

Preferred

SaaS, marketplace, or usage-based revenue experience, including ARR and NRR mechanics Experience with billing and revenue platforms such as Stripe, Chargebee, Zuora, Maxio, Recurly, or NetSuite ARM CPA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification, or active progress toward one Big 4 or comparable public accounting experience followed by industry experience Experience at a venture-backed or PE-backed US company Experience through an ASC 606 adoption, a revenue system implementation, or a first audit

Why Join MAVI?

Own the revenue number for high-growth US companies — the line every investor and board looks at first Build ASC 606 and recurring-revenue depth that travels with your career rather than with one employer Long-term partnerships with high-growth US companies Direct exposure to US finance and technology leaders Broader ownership vs. traditional accounting roles Flexible remote-first work culture Opportunity to grow within a global finance network
