Job Description
Responsibilities Lead store operations and create a memorable shopping experience. Utilise eye for design and style to curate donated products through visual merchandising, including feature displays and commercial windows, to drive sales and footfall. Keep up to date with fashion trends and local market demands to identify growth opportunities.
Recruit, train, manage and support staff and volunteers to ensure effective store operation. Co‑coach volunteers and staff in customer engagement, encouraging volunteer donations and loyalty scheme sign‑ups. Meet sales targets and keep direct costs within managed budgets.
Ensure financial reporting, cash handling, daily banking and security procedures are followed. Process donated goods according to set standards and timeframes, with pricing aligned to charity guidelines. Ensure health and safety procedures are followed in the retail environment.
Work independently as the sole person responsible for running the store (lone working). Age requirement: must be 18 years or older. Qualifications Solid retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
Experience in managing a team; managing volunteers is an advantage. Comprehensive understanding of retailing and merchandising display. Experience with cash handling and financial management procedures, including completion of sales records.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer‑first attitude, and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion. Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and balance competing demands. Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
