Job Description Job Description Job Title: Resident Engineer Location-Type: Onsite Richardson, TX (Dallas Metro, TX) Start Date Is: 2 weeks (onboarding) Duration: Permanent Compensation Range: $100,000 – $115,000/year Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO Not eligible for visa sponsorship Job Description: Serve as a hands-on technical expert supporting optical network deployments, configurations, and troubleshooting for a high-profile end customer environment. This role fills a critical need for a highly technical, customer-facing engineer to support advanced optical network deployments for a key client. The ideal candidate is a hands-on SME with DWDM expertise who can confidently interact with customers while leading configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment efforts.

Looking for strong telecom backgrounds, proven field experience, and polished communication skills. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Deploy, commission, and integrate DWDM optical networking equipment Configure and troubleshoot Ciena and Nokia optical devices Act as SME for network configurations and issue resolution Collaborate with customers to generate and validate configurations Support field teams during deployment and remediation efforts Work onsite between client and customer facilities Ensure high-quality, customer-facing technical support and communication Requirements: Must-Haves: 5 years of telecom or network infrastructure experience Strong DWDM deployment expertise Hands-on experience with Ciena 6500 RLS and/or Nokia 1830 PSS/OLS Experience configuring, commissioning, and integrating optical networking equipment Strong troubleshooting skills for optical and fiber networks Experience supporting field deployments and remediation Bachelor's degree required Excellent communication and customer-facing skills Proven ability to work directly with clients in a professional environment Nice-to-Haves: Experience overseeing network deployments Exposure to hyperscale or large enterprise environments Familiarity with Ciena 300 IOS Background with major telecom providers or large-scale infrastructure projects Experience with physical networking or server hardware
