Job Description

Overview You will join an exciting project that aims to refactor and optimise an existing scientific research code that simulates the deposition of carbonate sediments and the resulting geology in a range of settings. The code is used in both academia and industry and this project is funded by an industrial partner. This is a fixed-term post with a specified end-date of 30th April 2028. Responsibilities Refactor and optimise existing code using modern software development processes Report progress to stakeholders and the project team in written and verbal forms Document and train others on the use of the software Qualifications An undergraduate degree in a numerate subject or equivalent experience in a numerate subject Experience working with research quality software Knowledge of modern software development techniques in Linux and Microsoft Windows environments Willingness to learn new skills and techniques Further details of essential and desirable personal specifications are given in the full job description. Benefits and Working Conditions The post is full time, though part time applicants will be considered, with a salary commencing at ยฃ32,080 per annum.
