Research & Insight Officer

Looking for a role where you can turn research and data into meaningful insight, help shape policy and strengthen the voice of the voluntary and community sector across Northern Ireland?

NICVA is the membership and representative body for the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland. We support organisations to do their best work and ensure the sectors voice is heard where it matters. We have recently launched an ambitious new five-year strategy focused on strengthening the sectors resilience, leadership, skills and sustainability in a changing political, economic and social environment.

As part of NICVAs Policy & Insight team, you will deliver research and analysis that supports our policy, public affairs, advocacy and sector development work. You will design and undertake quantitative and qualitative research, analyse evidence and data, identify emerging trends and translate your findings into clear, accessible outputs.

Working with NICVA members, colleagues, policymakers, public bodies, academic institutions and research partners, you will gather insight and strengthen the evidence available about the voluntary and community sector and the wider environment in which it operates.

You will produce reports, briefings, articles, presentations, infographics and digital content for a range of audiences. You will also help ensure that research findings are put to practical use, informing NICVAs policy positions, communications, organisational decision-making and support for the sector.

The role would suit someone who is analytical, curious and able to communicate complex information clearly. You will bring experience of gathering and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data, producing high-quality written outputs and managing research or evidence-based work to agreed deadlines. You will also be comfortable building effective relationships and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Salary: NICVA Grade G (NJC Points 2325), £34,434£36,363 per annum. Candidates are normally appointed at the beginning of the scale.

Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
