Research and Teaching Assistant Professor (K/M)
at the Department of Medicinal and Cosmetic Drug Technology
Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Sosnowiec

Skills/Qualifications

The competition is open to a person who meets the requirements of Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science.

I. Eligibility requirements:

• master's degree in chemistry,
• doctoral degree,
• the first author in at least 2 original publications, published in journals or publications included in the lists of the competent Minister for Higher Education. An original publication in this document shall be understood as a scientific article or a scientific monograph (this does not include chapters in monographs), the definitions of which are specified in the Regulation on the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity,
• author or co-author of scientific publications published in the last two calendar years, for which he or she has obtained at least 140 points from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in terms of individual shares attributable to the author. Publication scores are calculated according to the year of publication,
• has a total IF of at least 20,
• documented didactic and organizational activities,
• documented participation (at least as a so-called investigator/member of the research team) in the implementation or preparation of scientific grants (which were not rejected in the first stage of substantive qualification) in cooperation with the Silesian Medical University in national calls (in particular: NCN – National Science Centre, NCBiR – National Centre for Research and Development, Ministry of Science and Higher Education – Ministry of Science and Higher Education, FNP – Foundation for Polish Science, ABM – Medical Research Agency and NAWA – National Agency for Academic and Regional Exchange, including the IMF – Metropolitan Science Support Fund) or international, financed with the participation of funds from external sources, granted no earlier than four years preceding the year of submission of the application. An applicant who is not an employee of the University may submit documents confirming the implementation of the above-mentioned scientific projects for the indicated period without the participation of the ŚUM,
• experience in scientific work in the field of chemical synthesis and technology for applications in pharmacy and cosmetology,
• practical knowledge of laboratory and research techniques used in classes with students (design, synthesis and chemical technology),
• In the case of foreigners, knowledge of spoken and written Polish is required.

An additional advantage will be:

• specialization in cosmetics chemistry.

• Required documents:
• a written declaration of willingness to join the competition, addressed to the Rector,
• a statement of no criminal record,
• scientific development plan,
• copies of documents confirming education and professional qualifications, in particular: a university diploma, the right to practise a profession, a certificate of recognition of a foreign diploma as equivalent to a Polish diploma (if applicable),
• other documents confirming the qualifications held (list of publications with the IF scale, ministerial score, certificates, etc.)
• Required Declarations:
• a statement of consent to the processing of personal data,
• a statement stating that if the competition is won, the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice will be the primary workplace within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
• Statement on:
• having full legal capacity,
• exercising full public rights,
• failure to be convicted by a final judgment for an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal crime,
• failure to punish with a disciplinary penalty referred to in Article 276(1)(7) and (8) of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
• a statement on having only citizenship of the Republic of Poland and on not residing in countries other than the Republic of Poland and the state of citizenship in the last 20 years, in accordance with Article 21(4) and (5) of the Act on Counteracting the Threat of Sexual Crime and the Protection of Minors.
