Job Description
Overview Genesis10 is currently seeking a Release Train Engineer for a 12+ month contract position with a global financial institution located in Chandler, AZ. This role involves facilitating an Agile Release Train (ART), a collection of Agile teams working toward a shared objective. The candidate will guide the ART through SAFe events, optimize value flow, manage risks, and foster continuous improvement.
Acting as a coach and communicator, the engineer will help multiple teams align and collaborate to achieve delivery goals, with a focus on supporting the agile maturity of Architecture and Governance teams. Responsibilities Facilitate the Agile Release Train (ART), a group of Agile teams working toward a common goal. Guide the ART through SAFe events, optimize the flow of value, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement.
Act as coach and communicator at the train level, helping multiple teams align and collaborate effectively to reach delivery goals. Facilitate ART events and syncs (ART Sync, SoS, Coach Sync), PI readiness, and Innovation challenges to ensure alignment, commitment, and participation. Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and dependencies within and across ARTs.
Monitor dependency readiness agreed during PI Planning. Analyze planning boards to spot flow blockers and recommend organizational or design improvements. Communicate updates to train SMs, train teams on new processes, and maintain the ART Continuous Improvement Log.
Requirements Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in IT, engineering, business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Agile program or project leadership, including facilitation of large‑scale, multi‑team deliveries. Deep knowledge of SAFe and experience acting as a Release Train Engineer (or equivalent) for multiple Agile Release Trains. Coach ART members and stakeholders in Agile/Scrum and foster skills for self‑organization and self‑management.
Proactively remove impediments and support ART members to maintain progress. Commercial credit domain and banking expertise. Practical experience running PI Planning, ART syncs, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt, and cadence‑based planning.
Strong facilitation, coaching, and servant‑leader skills to enable self‑organization and resolve impediments. Program‑level risk, dependency, and stakeholder management skills to track and report PI/ART KPIs (predictability, throughput, flow, quality). Excellent verbal and written communication; able to align engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Experience with Agile tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps, VersionOne), Confluence, and backlog/program boards. Competence in change management and continuous improvement practices. Desired Skills Relevant certifications: SAFe RTE, SAFe SPC, CSP/CSM, PMI-ACP or PMP.
