Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is an acute care hospital located in Cornwall, Ontario along the scenic St. Lawrence River. CCH provides a full range of acute inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services to a catchment area of 100,000 people from the communities of Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and to the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.

Summary of responsibilities

Function as a member of the Nursing Team at full scope of practice. Provide/administer nursing care to patients according to policies, procedures and to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and CCH practice standards as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.

Requirements of the job

• RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
• Holds RPN medication administration certification
• OR experience in an active OR setting within the last (2) years)
• Completion of Perioperative Course with certificate
• 1 – 2 years of surgical nursing experience
• Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
• On-call shifts, occasional weekends

Assets

• Membership in RPNAO
• Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Functional proficiency in oral French - and testing completed
