Location: located opposite Roma St Parklands, St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital is just a short walk to Brisbane city

Remuneration: $42.50 - $54.62/ hr + 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

Are you an experienced perioperative nurse with a passion for urology? We are seeking motivated Registered Nurses to join our dedicated Urology Theatre team. Working alongside experienced Clinical Nurses, Clinical Nurse Coordinators and surgeons, you will provide safe, high-quality perioperative care for patients undergoing a broad range of urological procedures.

Our service is supported by two Da Vinci robotic surgical systems, providing the opportunity to develop your skills in advanced minimally invasive urological surgery while working within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.

What you'll do?

  • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing urological procedures.
  • Prepare theatres, equipment, instrumentation and consumables for scheduled operating lists.
  • Scrub and/or scout for a broad range of urological procedures, including robotic surgery.
  • Maintain surgeon preference cards and identify opportunities to improve theatre efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, CSSD and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support the orientation of new staff and graduates and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Participate in education, competency development and ongoing professional learning.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives with a focus on patient safety and evidence-based practice.
  • Ensure safe handling and care of specialised urology equipment and instrumentation.

What Makes a Difference for Us?

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
  • Previous perioperative nursing experience: experience in Urology is highly regarded.
  • Scrub Scout experience in an acute operating theatre environment.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, patient-centred care.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in urology and robotic surgery.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Australian working rights (we are unable to offer sponsorship currently).
  • Availability to work across AM and PM shifts with participation in an on-call roster.
  • Willingness to meet vaccination and immunisation requirements in line with hospital infection prevention and control standards.
  • Ability to adapt to changing clinical demands and provide support across other perioperative specialties as required.
