Make a meaningful difference in a student’s life by joining a supportive school environment as a Registered Nurse working with a dedicated 1st-grade learner who is deaf or hard of hearing. This part-time, contract position offers the opportunity to build a close, positive relationship with a child while providing essential medical care—using your expertise in trach and oxygen PRN management.
Position highlights:
- Contract role running ASAP through late May 2027
- Part-time schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, approximately 6:30 AM to 3:45/4:00 PM
- Work directly with a young student whose primary language is sign. Support their verbal skills and communication goals within a vibrant, specialized school community
- Responsible for monitoring and managing medical needs including oxygen PRN and trach care
- Commute each day with the student on the school bus from Flower Mound to the regional day school for the deaf in Denton and back
- Onsite engagement only—offering a hands-on, consistent presence
- Collaborate closely with school staff and educators to ensure a safe, caring learning experience
What we’re looking for:
- Current RN license with relevant experience in school nursing or pediatric care
- Proficient in trach management and supporting students with oxygen needs
- Comfort with sign language or willingness to engage in basic sign communication
- Experience collaborating in educational or school-based settings a plus
- Reliable, attentive, and patient, with a passion for supporting children with medical complexities
