Job Description
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals, families, groups, communities and populations across the life span. The RN is responsible for the overall coordination and direction of nursing care.
The RN provides clinical leadership particularly in complex or unpredictable patient/client care settings. This individual has the knowledge, skill and judgment needed to provide competent, evidenced based nursing practice.
The RN is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the plan of care to achieve patient/client outcomes. Additionally, this person is responsible and accountable for their nursing practice and conduct as defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) and for ensuring that their registration is current and valid.
The RN may be asked to assume charge nurse responsibilities after hours and on week-ends and as needed.
Requirements
VALID NS LICENSE
MINIMUM 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
NEED UPDATED IMMUNIZATIONS, BLS, VSS, OTHER RELATIVE CERTIFICATES.

As a member of a collaborative care team, the RN works with other disciplines to coordinate care to achieve patient/family outcomes. The RN contributes to the efficient and effective functioning of the service/unit and coordination of patient care. The RN complies with documentation processes at NSHA sites.
