Registered Nurse - NICU - Temporary Per Diem Research Nurse

About This Role

The Registered Nurse - NICU - Temporary Per Diem Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong communication skills and clinical knowledge of NICU discharge processes.

What You'll Do

• Support the principal investigator by examining the clinical study protocol and coordinating with NICU families.
• Collaborate with the PI to design and maintain a shared data tracking instrument for study enrollment.
• Attain required CITI Research certification for compliance with IRB standards.
• Define and clarify research-specific NICU discharge procedures with the PI.
• Screen, evaluate, and recruit potential study candidates; support informed consent processes.
• Obtain written informed consent from participating NICU nurses.
• Administer final study surveys via REDCap on discharge day.
• Monitor data utilization of the REDCap discharge checklist and educational resources.
• Conduct medical record reviews and populate study data into REDCap.
• Maintain thorough documentation for every patient enrolled in the study.

Requirements

Education

• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience

• Minimum of two years of NICU nursing experience required

Licenses & Certifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
