Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

JOB SUMMARY

Seeking a dedicated and skilled Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. This role is critical in providing comprehensive patient care for adult medical-surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients.


• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage patient treatments.


• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


• Educate patients and their families on health conditions and treatment plans.


• Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.


• Float to other departments as needed to ensure adequate staffing and patient coverage.

Schedule / Shift

• 13-week contract


• 36 hours per week


• Night shifts


• Every other weekend off

Required Qualifications

• Current Washington State Registered Nurse License or current multi-state RN license.


• Verification of 6-hour suicide training.


• Verification of demographics from Nursys.


• Current BLS certification.


• Current ACLS certification.


• Current NIHSS certification.


• Must be a team player.


• Willingness to float to other departments in rotation.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Med/Surg Registered Nurse is required.

Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


• Proficiency in patient care documentation.

EMR / Systems

• Knowledge of Meditech is helpful, but not required.
