Overview We are partnered with a leading advisory firm that partners with owner-managed and growth-oriented organizations to support their growth across finance, operations, and talent. This role is different. You’ll be embedded within an advisory business, working at the intersection of internal project hiring and external client recruitment.
You’ll support the build-out of advisory teams while also delivering recruitment solutions to a portfolio of clients across accounting and finance. This isn’t a typical recruiting role, and it’s not a traditional agency environment. It’s a role that combines delivery, relationships, and commercial ownership, with the opportunity to help shape and grow the recruitment function over time.
The Role Our client is looking to hire a Recruitment Manager to lead and deliver recruitment across both internal advisory needs and external client mandates. This role is accountable for managing the full-cycle recruitment process while contributing directly to revenue generation through both permanent and temporary/contract placements. The Recruitment Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders and client teams to understand hiring needs, build strong talent pipelines, and deliver high-quality outcomes across accounting, finance, and related functions.
In addition to supporting external clients, the role also plays a key part in hiring talent for internal and project-based advisory work. Primary Objectives Build and maintain a strong network of accounting, finance, and finance-adjacent professionals Lead end-to-end recruitment for both permanent and contract/temporary placements Support internal hiring needs tied to advisory and project-based work Deliver a high-quality, relationship-driven candidate and client experience Contribute to revenue generation through successful delivery and client engagement Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Recruitment, Candidate Sourcing, and Talent Network Development Lead full recruitment lifecycle, including role scoping, sourcing, interviewing, offer and placement. Proactively build and engage a network of accounting and finance professionals through direct outreach, referrals, and market mapping.
Relationship Management & Candidate Experience Develop and maintain strong relationships with both candidates and clients. Manage communication, expectations, and feedback throughout the recruitment process to ensure a consistent and professional experience. Recruitment Operations & Commercial Accountability Maintain accurate data across recruitment systems and ensure process consistency.
Support offer structures, fee discussions, and overall delivery aligned with revenue objectives across both permanent and contract hiring. Client & Internal Team Collaboration Work closely with internal advisory teams to support hiring for project-based work, while also partnering with client stakeholders to understand hiring needs, provide market insight, and deliver successful outcomes. Business Development & Brand Representation Contribute to the growth of the recruitment function by identifying opportunities within existing relationships and representing the firm in a professional and credible manner in the market.
About You This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys a mix of relationship management, delivery, and commercial ownership and is interested in helping build and scale a recruitment function over time. You are either: An experienced recruiter with a background in accounting and finance recruitment, or A CPA (or accounting professional) looking to transition into a more commercial, people-focused role In addition: You have a strong understanding of accounting and finance roles You are comfortable managing multiple searches and stakeholders You are relationship-driven, proactive, and commercially aware You enjoy owning outcomes and working in a performance-based environment You are interested in contributing to and growing a recruitment function over time Location A remote, work-from-client organization based in Calgary. There are expectations to be available for events, including after-hours, which will primarily be held in Calgary.
There will be opportunities to work in downtown Calgary from the clients office and in-person meetings with the team or clients. Much of the processes and activities may be completed virtually which gives the Recruitment Manager the opportunity to work from home (or anywhere). Compensation is aligned with experience and reviewed annually.
