Radio Engineer

Overview

As a Radio Engineer in Germany, you own end-to-end radio communications for Helsing’s product development and field iterations. You translate frontline drone feedback into robust, adaptable RF solutions for contested environments. You balance using market-ready tech with building new capabilities to keep autonomous systems connected to humans in command.

You will influence technical strategy and collaborate with government bodies to secure approvals, contributing to mission-critical outcomes. Your work combines advanced RF design with ethical, cross-functional engineering to push state-of-the-art capabilities.

• Monitor RF landscape and frontline feedback to steer next-gen radio capabilities
• Test, validate and integrate radio systems into products based on customer and internal requirements
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers on antenna and radio solutions for mission success
• Act as subject-matter authority on radio communications (LoS and Satcom) to guide product decisions and strategy
• Coordinate with governmental bodies to obtain licensed-band approvals and support RF test lab setup

• Strong technical foundation in radio systems across the full stack, including propagation, hardware constraints and real-world performance limits
• Experience integrating radio/antenna systems into hardware products and validating performance against requirements
• Clear communication and ability to build productive relationships with engineers, programme managers, customers, and external partners
• Ability to navigate trade-offs between off-the-shelf vs custom development under time/resource constraints
• Background in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Software Engineering or related field (formal study or hands-on)
