Overview

As a Sales Manager, you lead the capture of next‑generation radar solutions for UK defence, shaping national radar capability. You will engage senior stakeholders, including the MoD and government, and drive multinational capture efforts from initial shaping to contract signature. The role offers high visibility and strategic influence within Thales’ radar portfolio and cross‑functional teams.

You will work to grow UK radar business while upholding compliance and security requirements. This is a mission‑critical, impact‑driven opportunity with a clear path to shaping future radar solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a high‑impact Radar sales strategy for the UK to drive growth and market expansion
  • Qualify opportunities and build a robust UK Defence pipeline
  • Cultivate influential relationships with customers, decision‑makers and partners
  • Lead bid and proposal activities including tender responses and negotiations
  • Maintain insights into the UK Radar market, competitors, and threat trends
  • Channel customer insights to product and engineering for future, competitive solutions
  • Represent Thales as a Radar SME at industry events and conferences
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, commercial, bid and programme teams to improve delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulatory, export control and cybersecurity requirements
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar radar/defence sales or business development role
  • Track record selling complex technologies to UK Government, MoD, policing or critical infrastructure
  • Resilience in managing complex, high‑pressure campaigns within a multinational organisation
  • Strong knowledge of Radar technologies, capabilities, and threat landscape
  • Excellence in relationship management, negotiation, presentation and proposals
  • Ability to understand customer needs and engage diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership of multinational capture or campaign teams
  • Self‑driven, collaborative with cross‑functional teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • SC clearance is desirable or obtainable
