Job Description
Salary Range: $71,000 - $73,000 annually Purpose of Role The Quality Engineer will ensure that quality standards and requirements of the Condair Quality Management System (QMS) are met and improved upon. The Quality Engineer will contribute to supplier-related, customer-related and operational-related quality functions. This will include audits, evaluations, tooling, testing methods, Supply chain concepts (PPAP), administration and other system activities to support the current manufacturing and business growth that is vital to the success of our company, as it pertains to the defined quality department functions.

Establish audit frequency and specification utilizing established statistical and QMS practices. Update our QMS with incidents, countermeasures, and improvements. Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible.
Support and participate in inspection of product materials for defects and durability as required. Support Non-Conforming Report (NCR) identification and countermeasure activities. Support and participate in customer complaint and warranty activities.
Identify the root-cause of technical issues and develop countermeasures.Prepare various reports as they relate to product quality or test results. Review current quality documentation and provide revision or improvement suggestions as required. Set and track quality assurance goals.
Support purchasing in sourcing decisions as required. Perform feasibility studies for facility utilization, expansion, consolidation or termination. Support capital activity as it relates to the Quality Department.
Travel approximately 25% to support various customers, partners and vendors across North America and internationally (as required). Adhere to Condair’s Quality Assurance System and Health and Safety policies. Other duties as assigned by management.
Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies Education and Experience: Canadian-specific work experience is not required. We welcome applications from candidates with international education and professional experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering major is required.
Demonstrated ability gained through two (2) or more years of engineering experience is required, preferably with up to two (2) years of quality engineering or design for manufacturability experience. Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies is required. Language Skills: Fluent in English (reading, writing, spoken) required.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization, with customers, & external agencies is required. Presentation skills enabling effective demonstration of concepts, findings and recommendations to management, customers, external agencies, and auditors is required. Ability to Reason: General understanding of Geometric Tolerancing and how to apply to parts drawings.
In-depth understanding of technical documentation. Familiarity with statistical analysis. Familiarity with statistical analysis.
Understanding of 8D problem solving process and associated techniques such as methodical investigative skills in failure analysis, root-cause problem solving, and materials failure/improvement. Computer Skills: Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite of products. Microsoft CRM 365, SolidWorks and SAP operating system is an asset.
Math skills: Ability to identify complex data that includes both measurement and quantity computations. Certificates/Licenses: ASQ, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Lead Auditor Training certifications is an asset; however, knowledge of these systems is a requirement. Valid and up to date passport, and ability to travel within North America and internationally is required.
