WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Role:
The Quality Assurance Technician is part of the Quality Assurance team. This role is a detail-oriented technician with a strong focus on calibration and measurement reliability. The technician performs in-house calibrations and coordinates external calibration services to ensure the accuracy and traceability of measurement equipment used across R&D, production, and other areas of the company.
This role reports directly to the Quality Assurance and Calibration Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Calibrate, test, and repair various instruments and equipment, ensuring measurement reliability and accuracy in accordance with established calibration procedures and industry standards.
- Coordinate internal and external equipment calibration schedules across R&D, production, and other departments to ensure timely execution and support company-wide measurement reliability.
- Develop, maintain, and update calibration standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods in alignment with industry standards, best practices, and company needs.
- Create, verify, and manage calibration data sheets for technical content, accuracy, and compliance with instrument specifications.
- Document calibration results and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Enter calibration data into CMMS databases and generate calibration certificates/work plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve non-conformance issues, escalating concerns to management as necessary.
- Support calibration-related quality control activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate of Mechanical or Electronic Technician/Technologist program or equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience with calibration procedures and instruments in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to read schematics and follow detailed procedures.
- Solid understanding of calibration standards and quality control methods.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025 calibration requirements.
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries.
- Experience supporting R&D activities.
Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication across organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and calibration software tools.
