Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Webisoft is a leading development studio specializing in web, Web3, and AI solutions. We're looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong automation mindset to join our fast-growing team. In this role, you'll work alongside engineers, product managers, and designers to build and maintain automated test suites, validate AI-generated code, and ensure the reliability of modern web applications.

You won't just find bugs — you'll build the systems that catch them automatically. You'll own our Cypress test infrastructure, integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, and help establish automation-first practices across the team. This is a hybrid position between remote and occasional office visits and sessions (downtown Montreal) Must-haves Proven experience as a QA Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role with a primary focus on automated testing.

Hands-on Cypress expertise: writing, organizing, and maintaining end-to-end test suites for web applications. Experience integrating Cypress (or similar frameworks) into CI/CD pipelines with automated triggers and failure reporting. Strong understanding of web application architecture, REST/GraphQL APIs, and modern JavaScript/React development.

Ability to identify, debug, and fix issues at the code level (primarily JavaScript/React and Python). Hands-on experience reviewing and testing AI-generated code (e.g., from Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools) — understanding how and where it fails matters. Experience designing test strategies: deciding what to automate, what to test manually, and how to prioritize coverage given real-world time constraints.

Ability to write clear test plans, well-structured test cases, and actionable bug reports. Familiarity with Git and agile workflows. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves Experience with Playwright or Selenium in addition to Cypress. Familiarity with visual regression testing tools (Percy, Chromatic, or similar). Experience setting up quality gates — blocking deploys on test failure, test coverage thresholds, or performance budgets.

Familiarity with AI model behavior, limitations, and failure modes as they relate to generated code output. Exposure to Web3 technologies (blockchain, smart contracts, digital assets). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
