Job Duties Plan, organize, direct, and oversee the procurement of granite, quartz, porcelain, natural stone slabs, fabrication equipment, tools, and installation materials required for residential and commercial countertop and surface projects. Source, evaluate, select, and manage relationships with stone suppliers, slab distributors, equipment vendors, and other key suppliers based on product quality, pricing, availability, lead times, and service. Develop and implement purchasing strategies, procurement procedures, and inventory control practices to maintain a cost-effective and reliable supply of materials. Negotiate purchasing contracts, pricing arrangements, and supply agreements with domestic and international suppliers to secure favourable pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and consistent material availability. Evaluate new stone products, fabrication technologies, equipment, and alternative suppliers to improve purchasing efficiency, control costs, and expand the company's product offerings. Coordinate with sales, fabrication, warehouse, and installation teams to forecast material requirements and align purchasing activities with production schedules and project timelines. Monitor inventory levels, supplier performance, purchasing costs, delivery schedules, and material quality, and resolve delivery issues, product deficiencies, discrepancies, and supplier claims as required. Establish and maintain purchasing records, supplier documentation, pricing information, and procurement reports to support operational planning and management decisions.

Qualifications A college diploma in business administration, supply chain management, purchasing, logistics, or a related field is required. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or a related field is required. Knowledge of international purchasing, importing, exporting, logistics, and supply chain procedures is considered an asset. Experience in the construction materials, stone, countertop, manufacturing, or building products industry is considered an asset. Strong negotiation, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple suppliers, purchasing priorities, and project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
