Purchasing Coordinator

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a well-known food manufacturer in County Cavan who are hiring for a Purchasing/Supply Chain Coordinator. This is a full-time permanent role.

Role Overview

The Purchasing Coordinator will support the Head of Purchasing with purchasing activities for the site, responsible for the scheduling and coordination of materials into the manufacturing plant.

Duties

• Liaise with Planning and Operations teams to identify and resolve supply and demand issues.
• Manage inventory levels by understanding and maintaining the minimum required raw material stock, and report inventory levels against agreed targets.
• Ensure agreed supplier performance targets are achieved, including on-time delivery and lead-time accuracy.
• Monitor, measure and report material shortages that may impact the production plan, providing regular updates on material availability.
• Work closely with the Sales team to support new product and customer introductions.
• Participate in, lead and deliver projects across sites and within Group teams.
• Proactively identify opportunities to source products that offer the best combination of quality and value for money.
• Proactively identify and develop ideas for future improvements while supporting change across the organisation.
• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience in a purchasing, warehouse or stock control role, ideally within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard software applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead projects from initial concept through to successful implementation.
• A Lean Six Sigma qualification would be advantageous.
• Forklift licence is desirable.
