Job Description
Overview This role focuses on engine and fuel control engineering for military aircraft, encompassing design change, obsolescence management, testing, and project oversight. Responsibilities Serve as the technical authority for turbine engines, focusing on fuel control units, engine components, LRUs, and component repairs/re‑manufacturing. Manage the technical health of the engine fleet by monitoring and improving Condition Monitoring/In‑Service Health Monitoring (CM/IHM) programs at the engine and component level.
Analyze engine and accessory performance data to recommend maintenance program changes, including TBO/MTBO adjustments, on‑condition strategies, and reliability improvements. Lead or support design change and obsolescence activities related to fuel controls and components, including alternate parts, repairs, and vendor changes. Provide hands‑on engineering support for engines: fuel control and accessory troubleshooting; engine strip, build, and module‑level maintenance; engine and accessory testing in the engine test cell.
Act as the primary technical interface with internal and external MROs, suppliers, and OEMs for fuel controls and components. Conduct design change activities for obsolescence replacements and life improvements. Provide support to the Engine Test Cell during engine tests.
Provide technical assistance and support to maintenance and production teams. Manage and oversee aircraft projects, including installations, modifications, and components related to engines, test, and production environments. Handle project budgeting, intercompany coordination, vendor liaison/negotiation.
Liaise with team leaders in charge of aircraft and flight line. Prepare accurate and timely reporting to ensure cost and schedule compliance. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as required. Travel will be required. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, or equivalent experience. Experience in design, development, integration, and/or certification of aircraft propulsion systems (military or commercial). General knowledge of condition‑based maintenance techniques.
General knowledge of turbine engine maintenance programs. Knowledge of aircraft and engine design rules and standards. Fluent with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines. Fluent written and oral communication skills in English. Professional proficiency in French is an asset.
