Project Worker (Janus Justice) ROI65/07/26/1v- Salary: Grade 4 - €43,477- €53,630 per annum pro rata Hours: 37.5 hours per week inclusive of breaks, with flexibility required in line with service needs. Work will include evenings, weekends and provision of overnight respite where required Contract Status: Permanent Location: Unit 12, Watch House Cross, Parteen Road, Limerick About the Service:? Extern is operating the Janus Justice programme.
The Janus Justice project engages young people aged 12-24 and covers Limerick, Clare and surrounding Counties. Janus Justice offers targeted support to young people who are involved in offending behaviour in the community. The Project Worker provides a tailored intensive one-to-one intervention, and support is provided to the young person who is at high risk of reception into custody, at risk of an escalation of their offending/ anti-social behaviours, who are not engaging in the Youth Diversion Programme or are living in Residential Care.
Referrals are taken from the Juvenile Liaison Officers (JLO), Probation Service, Court Service and Oberstown. The Project Worker will hold a small caseload of 5 young people to facilitate the intensive piece of work. The programme content concentrates on addressing the criminogenic risk factors leading to their offending/anti-social behaviour.
Programme content is also based on meeting specific individual needs through the development of pro-social skills and behaviours, improve community involvement, provision of experiential learning opportunities, and family work to improve relationships within the home. The programmes are creative and dynamic, utilising local, regional and national resources to facilitate intervention strategies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a trauma-informed, non-judgemental and compassionate approach to practice, with the ability to effectively engage individuals who may be reluctant or mistrustful of services.
They will show creativity and flexibility in their approach to engagement and problem-solving, adapting interventions to meet the complex and changing needs of service users.
