Job Summary: The Project Manager (Civil-Site with the emphasis on land development) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of engineering projects by managing scope, schedule, and budget. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that projects meet client expectations, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The Project Manager leads the project from conception to completion, ensuring technical excellence and successful project delivery.

Primary Essential Functions: Lead engineering projects from initial concept development through construction completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, ensuring that all project activities are aligned with client and business objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, managing expectations, and addressing concerns.

Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure the seamless integration of civil or mechanical systems into the overall project design. Oversee the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards and client requirements. Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, identify risks, and develop strategies to ensure timely project delivery and compliance with technical requirements.

Manage project financials, tracking expenses, approving invoices, and ensuring that the project remains profitable. Manage project resources to deliver projects on schedule, efficiently, and with quality. Collaborate with senior leadership and business development teams to pursue new project opportunities and contribute to proposal writing and client presentations.

Ensure that all project activities comply with building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, managing the permitting process as needed. Mentor and support junior engineers and project managers, providing guidance on project management best practices and technical solutions. Ensure proper project closeout activities, including punch list resolution, final inspections, and post-occupancy evaluations.

Participate in business development efforts, assisting with proposals, client meetings, and presentations to secure new business opportunities. Secondary Essential Functions: Perform all other duties as assigned. Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues, including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Knowledge Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and design best practices. Familiarity with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.

Understanding of engineering design processes, construction methods, and building systems. Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and financial management for engineering projects. Awareness of risk management strategies in project delivery.

Skills Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Deltek, Microsoft Project, PrimaveraP6). Strong leadership and team management skills for coordinating multidisciplinary project teams. Advanced communication and negotiation skills for client and team interactions.

Problem-solving skills to address project challenges and ensure timely resolutions. Strong documentation and reporting skills to track project progress and outcomes. Abilities Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.

Ability to foster strong client relationships and resolve issues to maintain client satisfaction. Ability to manage project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. Ability to lead teams through complex projects and make informed decisions under pressure.

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to meet project goals. Qualifications: Required Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university or related field. 5-7 years of experience in design engineering or project management for engineering projects. Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

PMP certification or other relevant project management training. Physical Requirements: Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.

Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to25lbs.). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
