Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt Reports to: Manager of Project Management, Envelope Assembly GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Project Manager, Envelope Assembly will be responsible for assisting customers and salespersons with all facets of their building envelope assembly projects. They will complete projects by organizing and controlling project elements. The Project Manager, Envelope Assembly must have effective communication skills and be able to troubleshoot, problem-solve, communicate and coordinate with sales representatives, contractors, engineers and architects on a daily basis.
The ProjectManager, Envelope Assemblyrequires knowledge and skills regarding building assembly (roof and wall systems) and related products, site supervision, problem solving, project management, manufacturing methods & procedures, process improvement, technical understanding, documentation skills, safety management, supervision, CAD, and excellent computer skills. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing orders from customers and contractors.
Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards, completing technical studies. Reviewing project estimates, quotes, lump sums, and managing project costs. Works with Sales Representatives and contractors to ensure project’s success and customer’s complete satisfaction.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project process; coordinating activities; resolving problems. Ability to read specifications and drawings and provide recommendations for cladding and roofing systems. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
Reviews orders from customers for completeness, and recommends changesas required. Provides pricing to customers for standard and non-standard projects. Reviews internal shop drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinates with customers for information as needed. Provide clear and understandable direction to order entry department. Manage projects from inception to warranty.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS& SKILLS: 5+ years of experience in commercial construction; preferably in roofing and/or cladding, is required. Possession of a post-secondary degree in engineering, building and construction or architectural degree is preferred. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
Display a working knowledge of ASTM, TAS, and other roofing and cladding testing methods and terminologies. Knowledge of Building Codes such as IBC, ASCE, IECC, AISI, and other pertaining codes. The ability to look at a particular problem and creatively think of ways to correct that problem and then rapidly implement the solution.
