Project Manager Full‑Time Boston, MA or Springfield, MA Opportunity The Corporate Function Program Management Office (CFPMO) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support high‑priority finance initiatives. This role will play a critical part in standing up and executing strategic projects, which may include initiatives such as the Modeling Center of Excellence (COE) and Anaplan re‑implementation and optimization efforts supporting Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, Treasury, and Investment Management. Reporting to a CFPMO Portfolio Lead, the Project Manager will be accountable for end‑to‑end delivery, including planning, execution, governance, financial management, and stakeholder reporting. The role requires applying CFPMO project management standards to drive clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution across complex, interdependent initiatives spanning actuarial modeling, FP&A, data, and technology teams. Team The CFPMO oversees the execution of initiatives across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, Investment Management, Law, and HR & Employee Experience, as well as defines and owns project management standards across the company. The team is focused on driving and aligning critical programs and projects across our Corporate Functions, creating more visibility into this work, while enabling better prioritization, collaboration, and execution. We are a team of self‑starters, who enjoy solving complex business problems with proven track records of excellence in project management and the ability to quickly structure and manage work in a dynamic, complex environment. Impact Partner with Project Sponsors and Functional Managers to compile Discovery artifacts such as a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), Project Charter, high‑level Resource Plan, and high‑level Milestone Plan to be reviewed to receive Discovery Funding Develop and maintain required Detailed Planning artifacts and manage plan execution Determine project scope and manage scope execution across multiple large projects or medium to large programs where scope is subject to change, contains high complexity and high degree of risk, large number of resources, and complex organizational change issues that support complex enterprise or strategic corporate goals Develop financial forecasts, record cost variance, anticipate and address delivery challenges, and request budget changes if needed following associated Change Request Process Develop high‑level milestones during Discovery and develop detailed project schedules during Detailed Planning Works with a high degree of autonomy to apply industry leading project and program management knowledge to refine the resource plan, develop a RACI Matrix, conduct a Key‑Person Risk Assessment, and Third‑Party Support Needs Assessment Manage risks effectively by proactively communicating with project leaders and stakeholders, using tools such as RAID logs, status reporting, and facilitated pre‑mortem discussions to surface risks early and support timely escalation and decision‑making Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility Accountable for meeting all business requirements from development through implementation Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or, in lieu of a degree, an HS Diploma and 10+ years of project management experience 8+ years of project management experience 1+ years of experience in project management software like MS Project or JIRA Ideal Qualifications 10+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years in a PMO environment Experience leading initiatives involving actuarial modeling or planning platforms (e.g., AXIS, Prophet, Anaplan) Exposure to actuarial, investment, capital, or risk‑related business processes Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent Strong understanding of project management methodologies i.e. Agile or Waterfall Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills What to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the Team Regular meetings with the CFPMO Focused one‑on‑one meetings with your manager Networking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQIA+, veteran and disability‑focused Business Resource Groups Access to learning content on Degreed and other informational platforms Your ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical business with industry‑leading pay and benefits MassMutual is an equal employment opportunity employer.
