We are hiring a Project Manager with advanced construction and project management skills to lead and execute technical projects with an interdisciplinary team. The role involves managing project scope, schedule, and cash flow while ensuring progress aligns with schedule and cost.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post‑offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Additional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Chemical, Mechanical, or Biopharmaceutical Engineering, or a closely related field is a must; Master’s degree helpful but not required.
- Minimum of 6 years professional engineering experience within the Life Sciences industry or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years project and/or people management experience, including setting schedules, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Must possess a solid understanding of construction design, technical equipment, and quality systems.
- Solid understanding of facility technology.
- Demonstrated experience leading small teams or projects.
- Quickly acclimates to business acumen and thinks strategically, as demonstrated through prior experience.
- Organized and capable of managing tasks on multiple, concurrent projects.
- Strong communication skills, with well‑developed written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of project/capital economics and applicable accounting requirements.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Performance‑focused, persistent, decisive, innovative, and target‑oriented.
- Intermediate level of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.
- MS Project experience strongly preferred.
- Good vision clarity with or without correction.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for engineering/construction design review, including equipment evaluation, tests, and approvals.
- Provide technical solutions to complex problems, guide junior staff, troubleshoot issues, and implement appropriate changes.
- Create cost estimates, budgets, and construction timetables; develop construction strategy.
- Coordinate and collaborate with architects, engineers, and specialists to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Escalate unresolved issues and propose viable solutions to management.
- Review and approve cost estimates, manage multiple large contracts, and keep team members on track.
- Develop, review, and approve operating policies and procedures; test and modify them as needed.
- Contribute to IPS’s knowledge of national and international standard committees (VDI, ISO, ISPE) to represent biopharmaceutical interests.
- Review and approve project‑related documents, construction plans, strategies, risks, and other materials; redline and correct potential issues.
- Work primarily in an office environment but may need to be on the manufacturing floor; occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Adhere to attendance policies and business needs as directed by the direct manager.
